Incandescent and Fluorescent Lamp

Incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp are two kinds of electrical lightning materials. But they differ in several characteristics. On the average, less than 10% of the wattage of an incandescent is utilized to produce light and the rest produce heat. Hence, this is a poor choice for energy conservation. This is because incandescent lamp produces poor and low level lightning. It is cheaper, fast starting and has good warm color and small in size and its life span is relatively shortly.

Whereas, a fluorescent compared to an incandescent lamp has high efficiency. About 20% of its input energy becomes light and 80% is converted to heat, including the ballast heat energy lost. Fluorescent lamp has longer life. However its life span is affected by the number of times the lamp is switched on and off because switching is usually wears out the cathode, it is not materially affected by voltage changes. But it is relatively large and expensive.

Losing Weight Wisely

A wise weight- loss program should focus on food choices and eating patterns rather than calories. Eat a smaller amount of a wide variety of food. Choose foods low in fats and sugars and high in fiber. Eat lean meats and foods that are broiled or baked rather than fried. Choose fruits and frozen juice bars rather than ice cream and candy. Snack on low calorie foods such as unbuttered popcorn, rice crackers and raw vegetables. Examine your eating patterns to identify the condition under which you intend to each too much. Leave the table as soon as you are finished eating so that you are not tempted to take second helpings. Eat your meals at regular time everyday. For most people it means three times a day.

Keep in mind that it is not healthy to loose weight too quickly. Try to set small goals, such as loosing five pounds. This might include a record; a movie ticket or some other activity that you enjoy that does not involve eating.
